Jason Hat

This is one of my go-to guy/unisex hat patterns that I first made a few years ago as a Christmas gift for my brother. As part of the knitting I am doing for the Cancer Care of Maine hat drive, I am making another and decided to informally share the pattern here. It will fit most teen and adult head sizes.



Gauge: 20 stitches/4 inches in Stockinette Stitch
Yarn: Berroco Comfort (50% Nylon, 50% Acrylic): Smoke Stack, 1/2 skein.
Needles: US Size 7 (4.5mm) circular needles, or size to obtain gauge
Notions: yarn needle, stitch marker, cable needle (optional)

Abbreviations

C2B: slip 1 stitch onto cable needle and hold in back of work, k1, k1 from cable needle
k: knit
k2tog: knit 2 together
p: purl
p2tog: purl 2 together
ssp: slip as in knit, slip as in knit, purl slipped stitches together
**: repeat instructions between asterisks as directed

Cast On 88 stitches. Place marker and join in the round.

Rounds 1 & 2: *k2, p2* around.
Round 3: *k2, p2, C2B, p2* around.
Round 4: *k2, p2* around.

Repeat rounds 1-4 until you have completed 35 rows.
